Fee includes: Classroom instruction, filling out paperwork, Notary of paperwork, and Gun Range fee.
You should receive a renewal letter from the DPS about 5 months before you license expires. In the letter they will include a PIN number. You will will need this PIN number in the future so do now misplace it. After you receive your renewal letter you can go to the Texas DPS website (see website link under links tab) and apply for or renew your license online, resume a previous uncompleted application session, or check the status of a completed application. You are not required to apply on-line. You may send the state fee to the Concealed Handgun Unit when you mail your Application Packet to them or pay on-line.
You need to return your completed application packet with your Certificate of Training Form (TR-100 you receive after completing your renewal class), no later than 45 days BEFORE your license expires. If you do not receive your renewed license before the expiration date, you can not carry a gun until you receive your renewal license.
Private classes can be scheduled for 2 or more students. E-mail or call for class times and schedules.
